Those of you who follow this blog know about my love of Creative Copy Challenge (CCC).
CCC is a writing prompt blog.
Twice a week, blog owner Shane Arthur (and guest word-selectors) post 10 words or phrases.
From those, you create a story, poem or whatever creative form you’d like.
I marveled at how Shane responded to absolutely every entry – at times exceeding hundreds of creative prose – long, short and everything in between.
Then hackers attacked.
They brought down the popular site and it was some time before Shane got the blog moved and back up. I don’t think it was ever the same. And that is a real tragedy.
A Hiatus
Then life happened to us all.
Despite being the Queen of Welcome, I found it more difficult to get to the twice a week posts.
Shane has had his own challenges and decided to walk away this month. Member extraordinaire, Mitch Allen, took over from April to now, but a recent comment appears to indicate that he, too, will be taking a hiatus from CCC.
The site is still up so you can check out some truly fabulous writing. There are over 330 challenges to choose from. Stories, poems, and even books have come from the creative outlet.
In my Creative Writing category at this blog, I share some of my entries to CCC. Death and the Detective series was born there.
I will be eternally grateful to Shane for helping me remember why I love to write. I also thank each and every generous member I met at one of the best community I have ever been a part of.
I hope the hiatus is just that and one day we will revisit the genius of Creative Copy Challenge.
Thank you, Shane, and all of CCC. We’ll keep the light on for you.

Cathy, I’m truly sorry to hear this… I had so much fun there even though I quit participating awhile back – thanks for letting us know.
Cathy says
Sorry for the delay in responding, ladies. My email notifications weren’t working after a change in my host’s servers.
I’m sorry about it, too, Anne. I had fallen off quite a bit, but it was a comfort to know it was there. Hopefully, it will return some day.
Lori says
Oh, that’s a shame. It’s such a great site. Any word on whether they’re thinking of offering it to someone else?
Cathy says
I haven’t heard anything to that effect, Lori, although one of the members was trying to keep it going. But, I noticed it went from twice a week to the last submission being posted 2 weeks ago.
