- Shoots blossoming color
- Trees budding life
- Soft breezes waving
Our tulips and daffodils still struggle to flower.
Although neighbors offer visual hope for ours.
The early morning hours still bring close to freezing temperatures. Can you blame the flowers for wanting to stay wrapped in leaves of warmth?
Outside my office window, a robin builds her nest.
I smile each morning as she lands on my window’s ledge, her bill grasping pieces of a winter’s shed.
She gazes at me in frozen silence. Assured by my static stance, she carries her treasured find to the nest hidden in the pine.
- I observe her tireless flight
- Back and forth, back and forth
She repeats her pattern until slowly disjointed twigs become an intricately weaved basket of hope.
Once more my walks are greeted by soft breezes of encouragement.
- Jackets are shed
- My pace grows lighter on a path to another time
My eyes open to surroundings, stretching awake as I welcome their return like a cherished friend.
I breathe in the sweet smell of rebirth and understand why.

Aren’t you sweet, Kim? Thank you. Enjoy Spring in your beautiful place. 🙂

You’ve captured the joy of Spring, Cathy. Thank you.
I saw a nest in a cherry tree (in full bloom). The nest was built out of grass, but contained a lot of plastic! It’s probably the most water-tight nest I’ve ever seen, but it’s a stark reminder as Earth Day approaches that we are stewards of the land. What we do affects nature and our own lives for generations.

Amen, Lori. Litter is one of my biggest pet peeves. It’s just plain lazy.
