Over at my business blog this week, many of the comments centered on writer’s block.
You don’t have to be a professional writer to experience that daunting blank screen. With the millions (if not billions) of blogs, creating content is everyone’s challenge.
There are many creative ways to blast through writer’s block, but perhaps none as fun as Creative Copy Challenge.
Your Creative Call
If you peruse my Creative Writing category, you find most of the posts stem from my submissions at the writing prompt site, Creative Copy Challenge (CCC).
The brainchild of host, Shane Arthur, CCC posts on Mondays and Thursdays.
- There is a list of 10 random words or phrases
- The challenge is creating a cohesive, creative short story using the words/phrases
- Long, short, rhyme or no reason – sky’s the limit
The results are fabulous. They are funny, sad, true to life and out of this world – literally.
The CCC community is one of the most welcoming places on earth. Its international members come from all walks of life. They enjoy sharing their submissions and supporting each other with feel-good comments.
CCC can be whatever you want it to be –
- A creative outlet for breaking down writer’s block
- A place to try totally different writing styles and genres
- The source for some really entertaining reading
Your assignment – should you choose to accept it –
I guarantee you will love it.
WE TAKE TIME OUT FOR A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT –
CCC is totally addicting – you have been warned.
WE RETURN NOW TO OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED BLOG POST.
Come on – accept the challenge that isn’t really a challenge – it’s just too much darned fun.
I hope to welcome you soon to CCC. We’ll leave the light on for you.

Aloha Cathy, awesome post and I enjoyed it. Gosh I was dealing with writers block for a week and I just couldn’t motivate myself to write it down. Random ideas flowing through my mind, but I couldn’t get it on my blog..Lol Well I finally spit one out and glad I did, I do feel much better. Glad I came by and thanks for sharing! Mahalo, Lani 🙂
PS..we belong to an awesome fb BMMC team, so here I am. Come by and visit me.

Aloha, Lani. I’m assuming you are from Hawaii-? In any event, I don’t know if you visited CCC today, but for today’s challenge, I used the words in a story about Hawaii. How’s that for a strange twist? 🙂 Hawaii is my all time favorite place.
I will definitely come by to visit, Lani. I appreciate you stopping by. Mahalo.

Oh, looks like fun! I did just go and take a look, wrote something really short, and then decided not to post it because of the wonderful stories that had been added. I might write something new and try again!
Cathy says
Oh, please do come back, Leanne. We have a few members that post short ones (I mean really short) all the time. We would love to have you.
Thanks for stopping by here. I hope to see you at CCC! 🙂
