I have had the privilege of creating guest posts for blogs I admire.
If you missed any of them, here is a sneak peek with links to the full posts.
Is Corporate Ghostwriting for Trade Publications Right for You?
Anne Wayman is the master of ghostwriting, but in a different market from mine.
When Anne asked that I guest post on corporate ghostwriting for trade publications, I jumped at the opportunity.
It’s a market I love and this post provides some tips I’ve learned along the way.
Teaching an Old Business Writer New Tricks
I am constantly amazed at the energy level and the breadth of knowledge Sharon Hurley Hall possesses.
I was hoping by providing a guest post at her Get Paid to Write Online blog some of that would rub off. If nothing else, this old dog did learn a new trick or two about her great community.
From Corporate to Freelance Business Writer in Just 30 Years
This post appeared at my good social media buddy, Brandi-Ann Uyemura’s freelancing site.
Brandi likes to hear life stories and how we got to where we are today. So, that’s what this post is about. It shares when I first found a love of writing and what took me so darn long to get here.
What Does Your Freelance Writing Business Want to Be?
One of the first blogs I discovered when I started my business was Anne Wayman’s About Freelance Writing. I was so glad I did.
I was even happier when Anne asked me for a guest post. This one is pretty much a “worts and all” recap about my early struggles of finding my vision for my new business.
Well-Fed Writer eNewsletter
An all-time favorite book of mine on copywriting is Peter Bowerman’s The Well-Fed Writer.
I was doing cartwheels when a request for a guest post turned into a two-part series on Peter’s monthly eNewsletter.
The topic is LinkedIn for copywriters. Part 1 is in the July 2011 newsletter and Part 2 is in August 2011.
Mondo Life Lessons From Project Runway
When I found out that Lori Widmer shared my love of Project Runway, it was easy to come up with a topic for my guest post.
I was also happy for the opportunity to write about something other than my business writing. This was one of my favorite moments from one of my favorite shows, posted on one of my favorite writer’s blog.
Who Says Business Writing is Just Another Day Job?
This was an earlier guest post I did for my friend, Brandi.
It shares what I love about my day job and hopefully provides inspiration to other writers that business writing does not have to be boring.
Health and the Freelance Writer: The Novel
I met Danielle McGaw like many of my writer buddies – through social media.
Danielle asked me to combine my two lives of a healthcare niche and a freelance writer.
I found it somewhat amusing to be the poster child for healthy habits, but the post did have me sitting up straighter.
Stay Tuned
I plan more guest blogging this year and will keep you posted on where you can find them. You may find some great new blogs and their owners in the process.

What an impressive list Cathy! My goodness. I’m honored that you were a guest on my blog already. But even more so after I read your list.
Cathy says
Thank you, Brandi. The honor was all mine. 🙂
Brandi says
I just read your posts on Peter’s newsletters and learned a lot about LinkedIn from them. You’re so talented!
Cathy says
Aw, thanks, Brandi. I really enjoyed getting to work with Peter as his book was one of the first Freelancer books I bought.
Lori says
Thanks for the link, Cathy. 🙂 I still think Mondo was robbed, but hey…
Great list of links.
Cathy says
Me, too, Lori, but maybe he’ll win the All-Stars one. 🙂
Thanks for the compliment and for stopping by. 🙂
Steve Rice says
This is so great, Cathy.
I may be hitting you up for a guest post sometime in the next year. I have some topics that I want to cover on my site, but I think your insight and experience would be awesome (similar to your work/life balance article).
Haven’t stopped by your place in far too long. So glad to be back by. Hope you’re having a great March so far!
Cathy Miller says
Thank you, Steve. Nice to see you here. I’d be happy to do a guest post for you. Just give me a holler when you’re ready.
March has come in like a lion but it’s all good. 🙂
Take care.
