It’s been a while since the last Guest Post Roll Call.
My intention was releasing it quarterly, but you know what they say about the best-laid plans.
- The good news is I’m exceeding my goal of guest blogging once per month
- At least I hope readers view that as good news.
When last we visited this theme, it was frosty February. Let’s pick up where we left off and roll into warmer June.
Work Smarter: Do Take it Personally
I must have been trying to keep the fingers warm since I did two guest posts in February.
This second one was at one of my favorite blogs for freelance writers – All Freelance Writing. Blog owner, Jennifer Mattern, packs a ton of useful information for newbies and seasoned pros alike.
This post recounts some of the ways I discovered for working smarter in my not-so-old business. Even though I’ve owned my business since 2008, there is plenty to learn. Even if you’re not a freelance writer, I think you might relate to an item or two.
10 Business Blog Killers And How to Fix Them
I showcased Thrive Web Designs before. They are a Boise-based company and created my business writing logo you see at Simply stated business.
They also created our cool Fight Like A Girl team logo for the 3-Day Walk for the Cure.
I was thrilled to guest post at their site’s blog. If you own a business blog, check out these common problems and their fixes.
Danger Ahead: Do as I Say, Not as I Do
If you follow my blogs, you’ve seen a few of my Dad’s southernisms creep into my writing.
This headline is another example of that and appeared in April on writer friend, Lori Widmer’s great blog, Words on the Page.
The Two Sides of the Guest Post Story
When Jenn Mattern called out for guest posts to fill in while she was off honeymooning, I jumped at the chance.
Two guest slots within a few months on her great blog? Fantastic.
So, what else would I blog about but Guest Posts. It attempts to provide you with the two sides of the story – the Host’s and the Guest’s.
The Freelance Writer’s Dictionary Worth Reading
Okay, so maybe I am pushing myself on my friends. Here I am again at Lori’s blog. But, she asked – honest!
Lori got tired of writers putting themselves down and accepting gigs for little or no pay.
Lori decided to create Writers Worth Day.
- That turned into Writers Worth Week
- This year it extended to three weeks
- 2013 must be the year of Writers Worth Month
Here is my contribution to celebrating the worth of writers everywhere.
When Online Writing Goes Offline
I’m hoping you won’t notice in the last list that I had a post on Sharon Hurley Hall’s Get Paid to Write Online.
It’s getting downright embarrassing how my groveling to my writer friends ends up in guest posts. But, you go where you admire the blog and its owner, and that is certainly true for me.
This post delivers a bit of both the online and offline (print) world for writers – professional or non-professional writers welcomed.
That’s a Wrap
We’re all caught up now – all my guest posts through June.
Check back at the end of September for the 3rd quarter update.
Well, I hope you’ll check back here before then. We usually have a weekly post going on. After all, gotta practice for all those guest spots.
Thanks for dropping by.
