If I knew then what I know now.
How often have you heard that phrase?
- Is it an escape route for questionable decisions?
- Or a Catch-22 for our life?
Would a lifetime of experiences change anything? What would we do differently? The decisions made then are what form us now. Although we may forget.
If we knew then what we know now ~
- Could the innocence of a child survive the hatred outside?
- Would triumph be as sweet without failure?
- Would possibilities be so limitless?
Would living what we knew then be so bad? Hindsight hinders what we knew. What we felt. It rewrites the chapters of our lives. Is that what we really want?
Dare we embrace it all? Recognizing if we knew then what we know now, we know nothing at all.

And how appropriate your comment is attached to your Monthly Assessment post, Lori. 😀
Roy A. Ackerman, PhD, EA says
So, what we need to learn is how we need to react differently to similar circumstances, so we REALLY do know what we think we learned. Otherwise, we will forever be saying your quote- and being the dolts we rue all our lives.

Exactly (I think) 😀
Anne Wayman says
Actually, I think embracing it all in every moment is the key to live, love, laugh and be kind. And I sure would have been one weird teenager if I’d really grocked that back then 😉
Cathy Miller says
Good philosophy to live by, Anne. 😉
