As a business the size of one, I understand how hard owning your own business is.
Entrepreneurs and small business owners wear many hats.
- Marketers
- Accountant
- Tech Support
- Customer Service
Not to mention janitor, maintenance, and any other job I haven’t thought of.
Could I appeal to the marketers out there?
Marketers − Give it a Rest
Go ahead. Take Saturday and Sunday off.
- Don’t email me about your next webinar
- Forget what you read about Sunday being prime time
- Refrain from auto tweets, posts and updates to hit my weekend feed
Today’s 24/7 world makes it more difficult than ever to have a life.
Sure, I can simply stay off email and social media (and I have).
But sometimes I want to share a personal photo, story or something that made me smile. I don’t want to be bombarded by more marketing pitches.
- I realize this won’t change anything
- I know it’s not all about me – really
- But, hey, if you can’t rant a bit on your own blog, what’s the point?

Live…Laugh…Love
Roy A. Ackerman, PhD, EA @ Cerebrations.biz says
And, while we’re at it, let’s put some TEETH into those DoNotCall lists. Like a $ 1000 fine for the second infraction and $ 10000 for the third. Payable to the annoyed one, so they can hire an attorney and collect those fees. After all, we have a Congress that is as prone to act on something as a corpse six feet under. (Oh, and they are about as sentient.)
Cathy Miller says
Amen, Roy! The whole Do Not Call list is a joke. Since I live with my 91-year-old mother, I see how she is bombarded by these sleazy marketers calling at all hours of the day. The fact that they prey on seniors should make punishment even more severe. In my humble opinion.
Anne Wayman says
Cathy and Roy, can we add robocalls to the list too?
And you know I’m for time off Cathy… I’d like to get to a four day week here before too long.
Cathy Miller says
Consider it added, Anne. For what it’s worth. 😉 I have the same four-day goal, Anne. 🙂
