What do you think of when you hear pink and orange?
I bet for most of you, you don’t automatically think fashion statement.
While I have seen clothes that combine pink and orange, it’s not a look I appreciate.
Except sometimes.
Pink and Orange Together
I love, love, love Halloween. Always have.
It’s the one time of the year you can be totally weird and it’s acceptable. Although I find as I get older, I have no problem with someone thinking of me as weird. I leave that angst for the younger crowd.
So I adorn my office in the back and orange colors of Halloween. And then I throw in some pink.
Wait. Pink?
Yep. Pink represents another favorite of mine − October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month.
I’ve admitted before. I don’t like pink in fashion. Although you would never know it when October (and November) roll around.
- I wear pink for October
- And a ton of Pink at the 3-Day Walk in November
- I buy products with pink
- And mix in Halloween orange
And isn’t that a great life lesson?
Just when you think something doesn’t go together, you find out you couldn’t be more wrong.
Celebrate pink and orange together. I know I will.

lol, I don’t think fashion statement for any colors 😉

Good to know, Anne. 😀 I probably don’t either.

Great topic! October is also Domestic Violence Awareness month- purple is the color for the cause. And I think purple & orange are AWESOME together 😀

Couldn’t agree more, KeriLynn. And thanks for the reminder. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, too. You’re always welcome. 🙂

The right shades of pink and orange can look great together, but it’s not easy to pull off.
Last year I decided to wear pink nail polish throughout October — on fingers and toes — but I only had really old pink polish. So old that it stained my nails despite the fact that I used a good base coat!
Today I bought three cheap pink polishes – a super pale blush pink called “I’m blushing” (I read the name after describing it as super pale blush pink); a dark, but bright, pink not unlike the shadow portion of the ribbon on Cathy’s pumpkin above, called “All the Rage”; and an iridescent pinky with coral/orange undertones called “Daredevil.” Not sure which I’ll try first!

Lovin’ our pink-toed Paula. 🙂 Such a tough choice. Let us know which shade wins! 😉
Maryann Miller says
Cathy, I do love the idea of mixing the two. And another writer friend, Holly, adds a purple boa to the pink shirt. Thanks for the Twitter suggestion to check out your blog. Glad I came by and learned a bit more about you.

Love the purple boa idea, Maryann. 🙂 Than YOU for stopping by, Maryann. I’m going to have to get your blog in my feed. Have a great weekend.
